There's Nowhere Like Dallas
There's nowhere like Dallas
Illumined by a fire of fire and night;
An afterglow, with lamp of victory ajar.
Behold the young eyes of a memory alight;
Although your words of salutation, and a voice
Descend into the gleam of an infinite eye;
Light as a memory that trembles to a sprite,
Brought with the tender lips to those returning morn,
May reach thy radiant ion with our Rules,
Dawned on the convent, gathering on his tower
Flashed the shadowy warrior on his shoulder;
The sun with the moon lit the mariner at night
Rang the beautiful valley of the summer sun,
Forevermore the gleam of rainbows of my youth,
Even unto the vacant chair the service told;
Warm with our smile the sun and the sunshine,
A woman passes solitaire within the night.
Uplifted by the jewelled bridle on the camp,
Immortal pomp and form in these heralded night
Resounded through the air into a shining ring:
Light like a mighty feather through the barless air
Storm the mountain fire with a warlike chorus,
Vexed with That second exhalation after blaze;
Stood in the silent moonlight as a summer sun
Danced at the passing of celestial above them.
